Elizabeth preaches calm when Alvin tries to catch the paperboy who throws the paper in the birdbath; Alvin wants to create a miracle lotion; and the couple can't get rid of a boorish guest who has overstayed his welcome.

Alvin's competitive spirit is awakened during a game of ping pong; The roof is leaking because of the heavy rainstorm; A salesman is brought in by the couple to try and figure a book's plot.

First, Alvin and Elizabeth get on one another's nerves while trying to share their workspace. In scenario two, Elizabeth is ready to go to the masquerade, while Alvin's ready for a big banquet dinner. Finally, Elizabeth drives a piano tuner mad.

First, Elizabeth and Alvin argue over her wanting to plant an oak tree on the patio. In scenario two, a TV repairman comes to fix the set and gets a dose of high voltage. Finally, Elizabeth and Alvin get irritated at a drive-in restaurant.

In the first story, Alvin comes home from work and finds Elizabeth in a foul humor; in the second segment, Elizabeth and Alvin recall their hesitant first kiss; and in the third tale, Alvin becomes jealous when Elizabeth invites an old beau to dinner.

After secretly receiving news of Allen's sudden business trip, Elizabeth convinces Alvin that she's psychic. In scenario two, Elizabeth is taught basic car repair by Allen. In the final scenario, Allen surprises Elizabeth with a bird bath.

First, Elizabeth gets a letter from her mother that can barely be read. In scenario two, Elizabeth is belly-aching about having to endure one of Alvin's lodge dinners. Lastly, when Alvin's dopey friend gets fired, Elizabeth helps him find a new job.

Elizabeth argues with Alvin about which nursery rhymes are appropriate for her niece. In scenario two, Elizabeth is upset about Alvin leaving town on a business trip. Finally, a weekend at Moosie's rustic cabin reveals Elizabeth's fear of spiders.

Elizabeth urges Alvin to purchase a car, resulting in driving lessons. In scenario two, Elizabeth's fears are confronted in the basement of their new home. Lastly, Alvin invites his boss over for dinner.

When Alvin invites a gossipy coworker over for dinner, they must find a creative solution for Elizabeth's black eye. In scenario two, Elizabeth and Alvin try not to wake Mama. Lastly, frenzied Mr. Fuddy appoints Elizabeth as receptionist for the day.

Elizabeth pesters Alvin with her constant phone calls to his office. Later, she asks Alvin to quiz her on the Girl Scout leader's handbook to ensure she's prepared for her first camping trip; and bedevils a poor census taker.

First, Elizabeth gets help from Moosie to prepare an anniversary dinner. In scenario two, Elizabeth turns the living room into a jungle to divert attention away from a car accident. In the last scenario, Alvin's coworker and wife overstay their welcome.
